Homelessness is rife, and more often than not
it’s misunderstood

The Covid pandemic impacted heavily on the lives of many people including the homeless.  The Sophia Foundation responded by making a one-off donation to the Hope Exchange.

The Hope Exchange is a beacon of hope for homeless people. They currently serve more than 2,200 individuals in the centre of Cape Town, which represents approximately one third of the estimated number of homeless people living in the Cape Town Metropole.  Their policy is not to judge and their mission is to provide their clients with dignity and hope by offering holistic care such that they can be reintegrated into society and reunited with their families.  Their services include daily ablutions, a clinic, nutritional meals through their feeding partners, personal development groups and a 40-bed second phase shelter.
